General Stage Hand. 25 Years in The BIZ, West Coast. Scenic Carpenter, Stage Rigger, Stage Electrician, Spotlight Op., Props, Special Effects and Equipment Maintenance. 7 Years film and video. Grip, Gaffer, Portable Power Distribution and Genny Op..

1969 : Entered the Field. Stage Lighting. San Diego. Own and rental equipment for small club venues, private parties and school dances. Continued services through 1982.

1970-71 : Shop boy to maintenance tech. for Anderson's Stage and Lighting. Equipment. Decorators Union Extra.

1970-83 : Permit worker I.A.T.S.E. Local #122, San Diego. (Unskilled Organization) Worked all major venues as a general hand, electrician, spotlight operator, flyman, drag in/out, etc..

Worked most non-union venues as well. San Diego Repertory, Indian Majique Troop, LaJolla Players, Second Avenue Theater, Normal Heights Theater, Women's Theater Ensemble, Theater for the Disabled, San Diego Ballet Company, USO shipboard, on base and hospital visits.

1971-83 : Helped establish and maintain New Heritage Theater Company, San Diego. New Heritage spun off the Women's Theater Ensemble and was also instrumental in developing the Gaslamp Quarter Theater Company. (GQT) Staff Electrician, Sound Designer, Lighting Designer, Board of Directors.

1975-83 : GQT and Don Wortman Productions rescued from porno use and re-outfitted the 1914 Lyceum Vaudeville house. Operated for almost 2 years before being demolished for redevelopment. The Lyceum showcased Whoppie Goldberg’s earliest productions of her one woman shows of street personalities, her characterization of Mom’s Maybley and staging of Mother Courage. The overall effort was instrumental in adding the New Lyceum Theater to downtown redevelopment plans in replacement for loss of the historic hemp house. Flyman, Rigger, Electric's.

GQT then went on to build and open the Gaslamp Quarter (Little) Theater in the "tenderloin" or "below market street". A pretty rough area. Being the first legitimate stage in that part of town, Gaslamp Quarter was instrumental in beginning the process of commercial revitalization, bringing a more cultured Night Life into the down town area. Staff Electrician, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, SPFX.

GQT provided artistic and design talent in co-developing the Hann Metropolitan Theater with the Grand Pacific Hotel project. The Hann presented to the public the first fly house in America in 60 years built with private money. General design input. Co-Designed fly system.

GQT instituted the Gaslamp Street Scene block party which developed over the years into the Michalobe Street Scene, the largest food and music fair on the west coast, maintaining up to 7 simultaneous performance stages for the three day event. Five portable outdoor, the GQT and Hann stages at one time, day and evenings.

1984-86 : Old Globe Theater, San Diego. Regular season. All three stages. Staff Carpenter, Rigger, Flyman, Deck Electrician and SPFX. The Globe shop also provided work for Lawrence Welk's Village Theater.

1984-87 : Technique, San Francisco. Off Season, Summers. Carpenter, Video and Stage Set production, SPFX and custom display fixtures. Built several infinity coves. De and re-rigged theater at the Palace of Fine Arts.

1986-87 : U.S. International University School of Performing and Visual Arts. Shop Forman and Stage Craft instructor under the Ryan Act as an expert in the field with more than 10 years professional experience.

1988-95 : Hollywood / Burbank. Bounced the NBC, ABC, CBS Studios for I.A.T.S.E. Local #33. Also bounced Paramount, Warner, Fox, Sony, Carson, MTM, Raleigh, Sunset, Universal and other Studios as carpenter, electrician, equipment maintenance tech., rigger and hand. Finish Carpenter on the New Lassie for Local #44. Occasional pick up for Locals #659, 728 and the Directors Guild. Set electrical installation for the New Dragnet and the New Adam 12. Road crew for Flora Purim and Airto Morrera. (Forth World Band, Godz of Jazz, Jazz Crusaders and other Ensembles ).

Worked pick up for various concerns including Sundance Lighting (award ceremonies and TV Specials), Messenger Production Services (video ads and FLEETWOOD new product info vids), Theater Vision, Production Lighting Systems, Automated Lighting, Sony Equipment Rentals, Santa Fe Studios, MTV, Republic Films, American Film Institute ( Film Market at the Lowe's Santa Monica Hotel, 5 years), Black Entertainment Television (Fridays pilots), Design's by Charlie. Electrician, Rigger and Shop Carpenter for 10 months at Channel 9 before the transition to a Disney property. Many others.

1996 : Moved to the Ozarks and still can't get away from the Biz. Helped refurbish and reopen the historic Arcadia Valley Academy. Rigged movie screen and re-rigged stage curtains and antique electric's in the Recital Theater. Power drop for out door events, gymnasium, etc.. House managed for the first Celtic Festival and Fair. Lighting and House Manager for several other events.

Current : Looking for pick up work in the Saint Louis area. Shop overflow, crew on call, or per project contracts. Prefer contract or casual labor under quarterly exemption. Flexible rates. Have local housing. Full or regular part time employment considered.
